DC Universe: After the Fall
Lex Luthor Academy for Metahumans
Leader: Lex Luthor
Headquaters: Luthor Tower
The Brainiac War is now considered the greatest tragedy to ever befall the planet Earth. Though the number of casualties was lower than most larger wars, with confirmed deaths somewhere around 14 Million, the number of heroes who were killed in the event was staggering. Many of earth’s greatest heroes were killed by Brainiac’s forces, including (but not limited to) Superman, The Green Lantern, Zatanna, Power Girl, Supergirl, Martian Manhunter, The Flash, and Aquaman. However, in the years following the Brainiac War the human genome seemed to evolve faster than ever, and metahumans began to manifest their powers at an accelerated rate. With many of earth’s finest heroes either dead or retired, and most of its villains still active, it was clear that these metahumans needed to be trained to become a new generation of heroes to carry on the protection of the world.
Having redeemed himself at the end of the Brainiac War, it was Lex Luthor who started a bold new project to train these metahumans how to fight the rampant criminal underworld that, if left unchecked, would surely choke the planet. Establishing a large training and education facility in Lexcorp’s new executive offices in New Metropolis, Luthor invited all metahumans to come to the Lex Luthor Acdademy for Metahumans on the 2 year anniversary of the end of the war. Since then, he has worked with volunteers from the Justice League, including the Green Arrow himself, to train these people how to control their powers and gear them towards the betterment of society.
In the past year, the Acadamy has opened its doors of a new wing focused on training regular humans to become heroes as well. Though this is a considerably more difficult program to join, it allows for young minds to follow in the footsteps of renowned non-superpowered heroes such as Batwoman and the Green Arrow.
